The Arrangement of our Logo

Below the Sceptre or Medical staff, in the foreground, with a symbolic Royal Golden Crown. The symbolism of this crown is powerful. At one level it is symbolic of Ghana’s proud history, based on hundreds of years where Ghana was a leader among African nations and tribes. As a nation, Ghana was very wealthy from the vast resources of the valuable Gold that was found within its borders. It was this background that gave rise to the colonial name Gold Coast, later to become Ghana when the country became independent. Within the Sceptre is KQMIG acronym which Means Kings and Queens Medical International Group. There is a Wreath of Greens Leaves and Motto: “Deo Medice” Latin word which Literally means “ God the Healer”

These leaves stand for the land and its rich natural resources. The green leaves, therefore, also signify the purification of the minds of those who pass through Kings and Queens Teaching Hospital.

Our Colours
Colours used in our Logo and Website have a strong psychological impact on our Institution. The colours for Kings and Queens Teaching Hospital are Emerald Green and Royal Gold. While these colours are symbolic of the History and Geography of Ghana, they are well chosen because Emerald Green connotes or represents Health, Growth, Nurturing, Education, Instruction, Calmness and Youth. Consequently, it is an ideal colour to represent a Medical University & Teaching Hospital that embraces Healing and Science. Consider that in relation to the designation of Gold, a hue of Yellow. This colour signifies energy, joy, intelligence and optimism and the Royal Status of Kings and Queens Teaching Hospital. Psychologically, Yellow/ Gold is the happiest colour in the spectrum.
